School Annual Education Report (AER) Cover Letter
7/1/2011
Dear Parents and Community Members:
We are pleased to present you with the Annual Education Report (AER)
which provides key information on the 2010-2011 educational progress for Kipper
School. The AER addresses the
complex reporting information required by federal and state laws. The school’s
report contains information about student assessment, Adequate Yearly Progress
(AYP) and teacher quality. If you
have any questions about the AER, please contact Mr. Brad Fewins for assistance.
The AER is available for you to review electronically by visiting the
following web site www.huroncountyruralschools.com or you may review a copy from
the office at your child’s school.
For 2009-2010, Kipper School made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in reading and
mathematics. While we are pleased to
have reached this important goal, we are continuously working to improve. We
appreciate the continued support of parents, staff and our community in this
effort.
State law requires that we also report additional information:
In district pupils are enrolled automatically.
Schools-of-choice openings, if any, are posted each year in May and
January. Students are taken through
the schools-of-choice program until positions are filled or the deadlines have
passed.
We are in the first year of our three to five year
school improvement plan. The plan
will expire in 2016. The school
improvement team will begin work on a new school improvement plan during the
2015/2016 school year.
There are no specialized schools in the district.
A copy of the core curriculum is available from
the Michigan Department of Education (www.michigan.gov/mde),
from Kipper School or from the Huron Intermediate School District (www.hisd.k12.mi.us).
Kipper School follows the state of Michigan core curriculum in all
subject areas that are taught at the school.
Due to confidentiality concerns, this information
cannot be reported in this format because of the limited number of available
scores. Individual student scores
are available to parents upon request and are sent home once tests are
administered.
9 of 9 students, representing 100%, were
represented by parents at parent teacher conferences in 2010/2011
The staff and school board of Kipper School are proud of the
accomplishments of the students that we serve.
We will continue to strive for academic excellence in the years to come.
Mr. Brad Fewins
