Huron County Rural School
School Improvement Meeting Minutes
September 23, 2010
The meeting was held at Adams School and began at 6:33. There were 9 people in attendance, with at least one representative from each of the six schools.
The minutes from the September 2009 meeting were read by Jessica Tenbusch. A motion was made by Brian Learman and seconded by Ben Edwards to approve the minutes.
The first item of business was to review the 3-5 year school improvement plan. The plan will need to be updated following the 2010-2011 school year as it will be out of date.
Next, the team reviewed the progress report for the 2009-2010 school year. A copy of the report should be sent with each school. The report needs to be approved at the next board meeting. Minutes from the meeting should record this, and be forwarded to Peggy Randall at the ISD.
Jessica Tenbusch informed the team that Jesse Grekowicz will be making the rural school video again this year at a cost of $60.00 per school.
A SAM update was given by Jessica Tenbusch. The Student Achievement Model is continuing work in the curriculum areas of math and writing. Anne Kennedy is the math representative; Dave Phelps and Michelle Daniels are the writing representatives; Kathy Cregeur and Jessica Tenbusch are representatives for the PBS meetings. They continue to participate in trainings and update the other professionals.
Kathy Cregeur will again be working with the Rural School Quiz Bowl team. Participants are signing up at this time, with the first meet in the month of November.
Jessica Tenbusch presented information on new computer software. Some schools are purchasing the new Microsoft Expression program to replace the old Front Page. Understand that if your school updates to Microsoft 7, the old Front Page program will not work.
A motion to adjourn was given by Amy Schweitzer and seconded by Brad Fewins. The meeting adjourned at 6:46 p.m.
The next meeting will be held on September 22, 2011 at Eccles School.
